Ingham Road Watermain Upgrade

GKL Group was engaged to provide Project Management services to Townsville City Council for the delivery of the Ingham Road Watermain Upgrade project. The works formed part of Council's broader commitment to upgrading critical water infrastructure across the city, ensuring residents continue to receive a secure and sustainable water service.

Our role spanned the full project lifecycle, from design management on behalf of Council through to contractor procurement and construction delivery, with GKL acting as Superintendent throughout. Design was developed in close alignment with Council's requirements, with our team managing the process through to a construction-ready outcome before transitioning into construction Superintendency and Inspection.

Construction works included installation of a new DN500 watermain, air valves and isolation valves, along with associated pavement works along the Ingham Road Service Road. Works were coordinated carefully within an active arterial road corridor, requiring close attention to staging, community notification and traffic management to minimise disruption to residents and businesses throughout the seven-month construction program.

GKL's role also encompassed regular site inspections across the construction phase to ensure the finished product met Council's quality standards. The Ingham Road Watermain Upgrade was delivered on time, within budget and to the quality requirements of the client.
