October marks National Safe Work Month, a time to reaffirm our commitment to building safer, healthier workplaces for all Australians. At GKL Group, safety is more than a compliance measure, it is fundamental to how we operate. Whether we are managing infrastructure projects in regional Queensland or supporting local councils through complex procurement processes, safety is always at the forefront.
National Safe Work Month, led by Safe Work Australia, encourages all workplaces to prioritise work health and safety and take action to reduce the number of work-related injuries, illnesses and fatalities. Since 2009, the campaign has raised awareness and provided valuable resources for organisations across industries and regions. This year’s theme, ‘safety: every job, every day’, is a timely reminder that safety is everyone’s responsibility. It applies to every occupation, every industry, every location and every task. By embedding safety into daily routines, we can help reduce the rate of fatalities and serious injuries across Australian workplaces and ensure that every worker returns home safely. Throughout October, Safe Work Australia will focus on the risk management process, providing practical tools to help organisations identify hazards, assess risks, implement controls and review them regularly. These are core principles that align with how we approach safety at GKL Group. Our team is proud to integrate safety into every project we deliver. From reviewing traffic management plans and conducting on-site inspections, to embedding WHS principles into tender documents, early design development and contractor engagement, safety is always a priority. Our work across government, infrastructure and defence sectors continually reinforces the value of getting safety right. “At GKL Group, we believe safety should never be an afterthought. It’s something that needs to be actively practiced and reinforced every day, on every project, by every team member,” said Glen Langfeldt, Managing Director of GKL Group. “National Safe Work Month is a great opportunity to pause and reflect on how we can continue to strengthen our safety culture and support those around us to do the same,” he added. As we recognise National Safe Work Month, we encourage all workplaces to take part. Use the resources, start conversations and take active steps to strengthen your safety practices. A safe workplace benefits everyone, workers, employers, families and the broader community. When we all commit to safety in every job, every day, we protect what matters most. Comments are closed.
