GKL Group was pleased to be represented at the Roads Australia 2025 Annual Lunch in Brisbane, with Chris Bassa and Teguh Imanullah attending on behalf of the business. The event marked the first in the annual lunch series and brought together leaders from across the transport infrastructure sector to engage in meaningful conversation about the future of mobility and connectivity across Queensland. The keynote address and panel discussions underscored the significant investment in the state’s road network, with $41.7 billion committed to Queensland transport infrastructure over the next four years. Of that, $25.5 billion has been earmarked for road upgrades, including $9 billion dedicated to enhancing safety along the Bruce Highway.
A major theme of the day was regional resilience; particularly how targeted upgrades like the Country Roads Connect program and Beef Roads Network are helping to ensure reliable access and connectivity for communities right across Queensland. There was also a strong focus on flood-resilient infrastructure to support community access during extreme weather events. As a business actively delivering infrastructure solutions throughout Queensland, from remote communities to urban centres, GKL Group welcomes the emphasis on long-term planning, safety, and resilience. Events like this provide valuable opportunities to stay connected with our peers, share insights, and remain aligned with government priorities that shape the delivery of vital infrastructure across the state.
