The Road Asset Management Contract (RAMC) was introduced in South-East Queensland as a multi-year contract designed to provide a comprehensive approach to asset management and road maintenance services.
Under this contract, the contractor assumes a stewardship role, collaborating closely with the department to maintain the road network's safety, functionality, and sustainability.
The contract's project delivery component focuses on larger-scale programmed maintenance, rehabilitation, and resurfacing of key sections of the road network in South-East Queensland.
GKL Group has taken on the project management of these major initiatives, which includes tasks such as:
Managing the Contractors thought the works
Reviewing contract documents including the project program
Reviewing and advising of traffic management plans and changes throughout the works
Reviewing community consultation strategies
The role also involves conducting night-time inspections alongside TMR inspectors and engineers to provide guidance and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
