Swept Path Assurance Project

The Swept Path Assurance Project is a critical enabling infrastructure initiative supporting the transport and handling of renewable energy components through the Port of Townsville. The project was developed to facilitate the safe and efficient movement of oversized wind turbine blades from the Port's ship berths to a newly constructed dedicated laydown area, strengthening the Port's capability to service the growing renewable energy sector.

GKL Group was engaged by the Port of Townsville to provide end-to-end project delivery services, commencing with design management and project development. During the early phases, we coordinated comprehensive site investigations, stakeholder engagement, technical assessments and design development activities to establish a robust project framework.

Building on this foundation, we led the development of project scope documentation and detailed tender packages, ensuring clear definition of project requirements and delivery expectations. The team subsequently provided specialist support through the tender evaluation process, assisting the Port in selecting the most suitable construction contractor for the works.

Following contract award, GKL Group has continued its involvement through construction delivery, providing contractor management, project engineering and site inspection services. Working closely with the Port and the construction team, we oversee quality assurance and compliance throughout the construction phase, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard.
