Port of Townsville - East Port Development

GKL Group was engaged to provide Project Management services to Port of Townsville Limited for the delivery of the Benwell Road Intersection, East Port Connection Road and Windfarm Laydown Area projects. 

Peak Downs Highway Re-Alignment

Acting as the Principal's Representative, GKL Group assisted with the Peak Downs Highway Re-Alignment project for Department Transport and Main Roads (DTMR). 

Road Asset Management Contract

​The Road Asset Management Contract (RAMC) was introduced in South-East Queensland as a multi-year contract designed to provide a comprehensive approach to asset management and road maintenance services.

Horseshoe Bay Road

GKL Group was nominated as the Superintendent part way through the project, on behalf of Townsville City Council. The project has multiple stages and includes the road from Arcadia to Horseshoe Bay on beautiful Magnetic Island.

Pre-Qualification Assistance

GKL Group worked with the team at Mendi to assist them to prepare their Pre-Qualification Submission to the Department of Transport and Main Roads.

Riverway Boardwalk

One of the projects we are proud to have helped deliver for Townsville City Council during 2022 is the Riverway Boardwalk redevelopment project.

Construction Industry Support

​During our time with the Koppens Developments team, we assisted them with developing an Operational Management Plan, by summarising their current business systems and developing a clear expectation on project delivery and reporting. 

Sea Wall Project

Representing the Port of Townsville Limited, we were involved in the Sea Wall Project in Townsville. 

Design Management

The GKL Group team are proud to assist Townsville City Council with managing the design process on multiple projects.

ETS Geo Consultation

ETS Geo is a Cairns-based geo-technical engineer that we have worked with as a consultant providing assistance with pre-qualification submissions and more.

Collinsville-Elphinstone Road Bridge

As representatives for the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, we were ensuring the interests of the Queensland Government were upheld throughout the delivery of the Collinsville - Elphinstone Road Bridge Project.

Operations Management Manual

We worked with the leadership team at GNM to develop and implement an Operations Management Manual.

Gregory Developmental Road

Representing our client; Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, we were ensuring the interests of the Queensland Government were upheld throughout the delivery of the Gregory Developmental Road – Road Over Rail Project.

Bruce Highway Safety Updates

​Providing Project Engineer Support to Department of Transport and Main Roads, GKL Group were pleased to be a part of the Bruce Highway Safety Upgrades - 10 Mile Creek to Yeates Creek.

Allambie Lane Upgrade

As the delivery partner for Townsville City Council, our team were involved in the completion of a $3million upgrade to Allambie Lane in the Upper Ross area.

Suttor Developmental Road Rail Crossing

On behalf of the Department of Transport and Main Roads, we undertook a Principal Representative role on the Suttor Developmental Road Rail Crossing project.

The Strand Jetty

GKL Group were engaged as the Superintendent's Representative for the project and worked to manage the design and construct (D&C) between the principal contractor and the client.

Road Reconstruction

The 2021 Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) Reconstruction of Essential Public Assets (REPA) works included the repairs of Moncrieff Road. Moncrieff Road was heavily damaged by weather in the 2021 heavy weather event and was required to be repaired to ensure safe and reliable passage to the local residents.

Slope Stabilisation Project

Over several wet seasons the drainage and existing batter protection at the Knox Court location became eroded and undermined over time, requiring repair and maintenance to ensure slope stability in the area.

Cairns Water Security Upgrade

The Cairns Water Security Stage 1 (CWSS1) project is one of the most significant infrastructures undertaken by the Cairns Regional Council. ​

Castle Hill Reservoir Tank Replacement

GKL Group was engaged to provide Project Management services to Townsville City Council for the delivery of the Castle Hill Reservoir Tank Replacement project. ​

Ingham Road Watermain Upgrade

GKL Group was engaged to provide Project Management services to Townsville City Council for the delivery of the Ingham Road Watermain Upgrade project.

Lotus Creek Wind Farm

GKL Group was engaged by the Department of Transport and Main Roads to provide Project Management and Inspector services for the surveillance and inspection of road works associated with the Lotus Creek Wind Farm development.

Sturt Street Slope Stabilisation

GKL Group was engaged by Townsville City Council to procure and manage a design and construct contract for the delivery of the Sturt Street Slope Stabilisation Project.

Resource Recovery Project

The Stuart Landfill Cells 4 and 5 Project is a major infrastructure initiative for Townsville City Council's Resource Recovery operations at the Stuart Landfill, located at 24 Vantassel Street, Stuart.

Capping Failure Investigation

GKL Group was engaged by Townsville City Council to investigate defects identified in the newly completed capping works at Jensen Landfill.

Peer Review and Procurement Support

GKL Group was engaged to peer-review the design strategy for Sediment Pond Three, a high-efficiency sediment basin and diversion channel supporting the environmental compliance obligations of the Stuart Landfill.

Queensland Resources Facility

The Queensland Resources Common User Facility is a key project supporting Queensland's critical minerals industry, delivered by the Queensland Government in collaboration with the Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development.

Swept Path Assurance Project

The Swept Path Assurance Project is a critical enabling infrastructure initiative supporting the transport and handling of renewable energy components through the Port of Townsville.
